The Philadelphia 76ers have added three players to their organisation, announcing the signings of Tacko Fall, Jameer Nelson Jr. and Saint Thomas.
Philadelphia confirmed all three additions on Monday as preparations continue for the 2026-27 NBA season.
While the Sixers have not yet announced the terms of the deals, the trio bring three very different stories to Philadelphia, headlined by Fall's attempt to return to the NBA.
Tacko Fall Gets Another NBA Opportunity
At 7-foot-6, Tacko Fall remains one of the most recognisable big men in basketball.
The 30-year-old went undrafted in 2019 before beginning his NBA career with the Boston Celtics. He later played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and has three years of NBA experience listed by the league.
Fall has since continued his career outside the NBA, but Philadelphia is now giving the Senegalese centre another opportunity within an NBA organisation.
Whether he can turn the signing into a place on the Sixers' regular-season roster will be one of the more interesting storylines to follow.
Jameer Nelson Jr. Comes Home
Jameer Nelson Jr.'s arrival carries a particularly strong Philadelphia connection.
The 25-year-old was born in nearby Haverford, Pennsylvania, and is the son of former NBA All-Star Jameer Nelson. Nelson Jr. played college basketball at George Washington, Delaware and TCU before beginning his professional career after going undrafted in 2024.
His father already has a significant role within the Sixers organisation.
The elder Nelson was promoted earlier this year to executive vice president of basketball operations, working under team president Mike Gansey.

There was another piece of the puzzle on Monday, with Philadelphia's G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, acquiring Nelson Jr.'s returning player rights as part of a three-team trade involving the Stockton Kings and Iowa Wolves.
Saint Thomas Returns to Philadelphia
For Saint Thomas, this is familiar territory.
Thomas previously signed with Philadelphia in September 2025 before being waived ahead of the regular season.
He returned to represent the Sixers during the 2026 NBA Summer League, appearing in four games and averaging 4.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in 15.5 minutes per game.
The 23-year-old forward will now receive another opportunity with the organisation.
Competition for Places in Philadelphia
None of these moves should be viewed in isolation from Philadelphia's wider roster picture.
The Sixers have already undergone substantial changes during the summer, with Jaylen Brown, LeBron James, Anfernee Simons, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and others among their headline additions.
Fall, Nelson and Thomas arrive much further down the roster hierarchy, but the coming weeks will give all three an opportunity to establish where they fit within the Sixers organisation.
For Fall in particular, simply being back with an NBA team represents another chance to work his way towards the league.
